For users that are using MS Project, Asta and P6 and have imported a project into LB Geniebelt, we give you the option to export the Progress Percent of your project's tasks which allows you to add them to your native programme. This will ensure all your project files are up-to-date with the latest Progress Percent.

As well, we allow you to export unique URL's for each group and task of your LB Geniebelt project. This will allow you to open up LB Geniebelt on a specific task and group from your native programme, giving you easy access to all the data you need while planning.

Export Progress

  1. Download a CSV of the project in LB Geniebelt

  2. When downloading the CSV, be sure to include Groups.

  3. Select and copy the entire progress column, except the header. This way it will match the column in MS Project, Asta and P6.

  4. To paste the progress percentages, select the entire column and simply paste.

Asta

MS Project

P6

The process with P6 is a bit different. Instead of pasting the data directly into P6, you will first need to export your P6 project as an excel file. Once you open the excel file, you can then paste the LB Geniebelt data into the relevant columns. Then P6 allows you to import the excel file to update your programme with the new percentages.

You can see a video here which shows these steps.

Please note: Before pasting, please double check that you have made no changes within your native programme so that the groups/tasks structure is different. Otherwise, the percentages wont match the right tasks.

You now have the latest Progress Percent from LB Geniebelt into your native planning tool!

Adding LB Geniebelt URL's

You can also paste a unique link to each LB Geniebelt task and group within your native programme. This will allow you to easily open a task to review the notes while working in your other programme.

  1. First download the CSV of your project from LB Geniebelt, with groups, like described above.

  2. Copy the entire LB Geniebelt URL column, except for the header. This column is all the way to the right of the file; Column R.

  3. To paste the URL's, you will need to create a new column in your native programme.

    MS Project

Create a new column and select Hyperlink. Then select the first row of that column and paste the percentages you copied from the LB Geniebelt CSV.

    Asta

Within a blank column, select Add Column>User Fields>Attachments.

  4. To paste the URL's, select the top box within the Progress column. It should be line 1.

    P6

P6 allows you to create User Defined Columns so you can create a specific column for LB Geniebelt URL.

Once you create the column, export the programme as an excel and paste the URLs into that column.

Save the excel file and import it back into P6.

Please note: Before pasting, please double check that you have made no changes within your native programme so that the groups/tasks structure is different. Otherwise, the percentages wont match the right tasks.

You now have LB Geniebelt links within your Project so you can easily access the information while in your other program!
