This F.A.Q article guides you through the steps on how to import a list of points from Excel or CSV files into Aproplan.

Important: CSV or Excel files that were exported following the steps from the FAQ “How to Export Points from Aproplan to Excel or CSV File - Web version” currently cannot be used to import the same exported file back into Aproplan, as doing so may cause data conflicts.

File types:

  • .csv files are a plain text format that stores only raw data, making it lightweight but less editable in terms of formatting or structure.

  • .xlsx files allow formatting, formulas, and multiple sheets, giving you more flexibility to organize and prepare your point list before importing.

Getting Started

Begin by clicking on the list section in the left panel to go to the lists overview, and click on the green button in the top middle of the page to open the V2 list page:

  • In the V2 lists page, click on the "Import points" button to proceed with uploading your data file into Aproplan:

  • Understand how your data will be interpreted by clicking on the button "Learn how we match column to points properties":

  • After clicking on the button above, a new window pops up:

The minimum required columns that should be in the Excel/CSV file for import are:

  • Subject - Free text

  • Workspace (List name) - Code or Title

  • Status - Code or Name

Download the Excel or CSV Template

To be able to import points into Aproplan, the Excel or CSV template is required. The points data can be filled into the template by copy/pasting points data from another location, or by typing it in manually into the template.

  • Click on the button "Download CSV template" or "Download XLSX template" to download the template:

  • Open the download Excel template file to begin entering your point data starting from row 2. You can add as many rows as you need:

Note: Review the data fields to ensure all necessary information is included, and verify that all required columns follow the specifications:

After everything is filled in and verified, download the file in the same format as the template format:
