You can use Groups and subgroups to organize your tasks within a project for easy viewing and managing.

To create a Group, click on the hammer icon in the tool bar and select Group.

You can also convert a task to a Group. To do that, select the task, go to its menu on side panel and select Convert to group. There will be a group created called Group for <task name>, and the selected task will reside in that group.

When importing from MS project, Asta or P6, we duplicate the group structure within those files.

Group details

Groups may get their own name. They show the start date of the earliest task in the group and latest end date of the task in the group as its full duration, counting number of working days and calculating the overall progress based on that.

The only detail that can be edited for a Group is the name. To do that, click on it. The side panel opens. You can then edit the name by clicking on the name, or delete it on the menu.

Deleting several groups at once is currently not possible.

Group's dates can be adjusted by changing the dates of the inside tasks, or moving them out. This will also change the progress percentage.

Moving Tasks/Groups Vertically within Gantt

To move tasks and groups, open the left hand side panel. Here you can also highlight multiple tasks and either create a new group or add them to an existing group.

You can also multiselect a number of tasks/groups, highlight one, hold shift and select the last in the range of selection. This will highlight both first and last item and items in between them.

Use the dots icon to drag the tasks/groups up and down, and in and out of groups/subgroups. Pay attention to the dark line to signify when it enter/exits a group.

Open/Closing Groups

Click on the triangle to the left of the group name on the Gantt chart to open and close groups.

To open and close all your groups, use the folder icons on the toolbar.

Group Tree Structure

You can also view your Groups within a Tree Structure. Click on the gantt icon within the toolbar and select Tree Diagram. It will show your Group Structure with progress indicators.
