How to clear the cache of my browser? - Web

It is important to clear the cache of your browser from time to time to avoid it to take too much space on the hard disk of your computer.

If you are using a Windows PC with the Microsoft Edge browser, we advise you to use the internet browsers Google Chrome or Mozilla Firefox in order to follow the Windows browser steps below, and for optimal performance of the Aproplan web application.

On Safari:

1) You will first need to activate the web developer menu. Click on the top left corner of your screen in the menu bar on "Safari" and then click on "Settings" in the drop-down menu.

2) Click on the gears icon "Advanced" in the top right. Then click the box at the very bottom of the window: "Show features for developers"

3) Once this menu has been activated, you will see it appear at the top of your screen between "Bookmarks" and "Window". Click on the menu and select "Empty Caches"

On Firefox:

1) Open the preferences of Firefox (click at the top right corner to open the menu and select "Preferences")

2) Click on "Advanced" and select the third tab ("Network"). Click on the first "Clear now" button.

Alternatively, to delete cookies for a specific site:

  1. Scroll to Cookies and Site Data.

  2. Click Manage Data.

  3. Find the site you want to delete cookies for and click Remove Selected.

On Google Chrome:

1) Open Google Chrome.

2) Click on the three vertical dots in the top-right corner (next to your profile picture).

Select "Settings" at the very bottom of the drop-down menu.



3) In the left-hand menu, click on "Privacy and security."

4) Under the "Privacy and security" section, click on "Clear browsing data."

5) In the pop-up window, choose the time range for which you want to clear the cache (e.g., "Last hour," "Last 24 hours," "All time").

6) Check the box labeled "Cached images and files."

You can also check other boxes if you want to clear other data (e.g., browsing history, cookies).

7) Click "Clear data."

On Microsoft Edge (formerly Internet Explorer):

How do I clear the cache in Microsoft Edge?

  1. Open Microsoft Edge and click on the three horizontal dots (menu) in the upper-right corner.

  2. Select Settings.

  3. Under Privacy, search, and services, find Clear browsing data and click Choose what to clear.

  4. In the dialog box, select Cached images and files.

  5. Choose the Time range (e.g., last hour, all time).

  6. Click Clear now.

How do I delete cookies in Microsoft Edge?

  1. Follow the same steps to access Clear browsing data.

  2. In the dialog box, select Cookies and other site data.

  3. Choose the desired Time range.

  4. Click Clear now.

How to Disable Autofill in Your Browser

When the autofill option is enabled, it could be possible that the autofilled text is displayed when entering data in a text field, which can cause confusion. If you’re seeing unexpected suggestions or pre-filled values in text fields, it may be due to your browser’s autofill settings. Here’s how to disable or clear autofill in all major browsers:

Google Chrome

  1. Open Chrome and go to: chrome://settings/autofill

  2. Under Addresses and more, click and turn off the toggle for Save and fill addresses.

  3. (Optional) To clear already saved autofill data:

    • Go to: chrome://settings/clearBrowserData

    • Select the Advanced tab

    • Check Autofill form data

    • Click Clear data

Mozilla Firefox

  1. Click the menu (☰) > Settings

  2. Go to Privacy & Security

  3. Scroll to Forms and Autofill

  4. Uncheck Autofill addresses and/or Autofill credit cards

  5. To clear saved form data:

    • Go to History > Clear Recent History

    • Check Form & Search History

    • Click OK

Safari (macOS)

  1. Open Safari and go to Safari > Settings (or Preferences) from the top menu.

  2. Click the Autofill tab.

  3. Uncheck the options you want to disable, such as:

    • Using information from my contacts

    • User names and passwords

    • Credit cards

    • Other forms

  4. To delete saved autofill info:

    • Go to the Passwords tab to remove saved login credentials, or

    • Open Keychain Access (via Spotlight) and remove entries manually.

Microsoft Edge

  1. Open Edge and go to: edge://settings/personalinfo

  2. Turn off Save and fill basic info

  3. (Optional) To clear stored autofill entries:

    • Go to: edge://settings/clearBrowserData

    • Under Clear browsing data, click Choose what to clear

    • Select Autofill form data (includes forms and cards)

    • Click Clear now
