This F.A.Q. article guides you through the steps on how to define categories and Rooms using your own Excel tables that you can then import into the application.
Step-by-Step Guide on How to Import an Excel Document into Aproplan
1. Login to Aproplan and click on the "i" information icon that appears when hovering over your project with your cursor:
2. Access the project settings by clicking on the gear icon on the right side of the screen:
3. Click on the "Categories" (or "Rooms") tab, and then click on the arrows (import) icon:
4. Two options appear, click on "Import from Excel":
Note: It is only possible to import an Excel document for Categories or Rooms.
Importing Categories
5. To import a list of categories from an Excel file into Aproplan, you must organise your categories as explained below:
Column A: Category code
Column B: Name of category
Column C: Subcategory code
Column D: Subcategory name
Column E: Subject
Column F: Description
6. A window pops up. Click on the blue "Browse" link and select your document, then click on the "Import" button in the bottom-right corner:
Importing Rooms
7. To import a list of rooms from an Excel file into Aproplan, you must organise your rooms as explained below:
Column A: Code level 1
Column B: Description level 1
Column C: Code level 2
Column D: Description level 2
8. Click on the blue "Browse" link and select your document, then click on the "Import" button in the bottom-right corner:
Note: The file name cannot contain any of the following characters: @ + % ° ( ) { } § & # \ / : * ? " < > |
Note: Make sure all lines in the document are completed. The rooms or categories in the Excel file will be added to the existing Categories or Rooms in Aproplan.
